Call for Papers for a Special Issue Métis Ethics: Beyond OCAP and Towards Métis Sovereignty
Pawaatamihk: The Journal of Métis Thinkers (PMT) is announcing a Call for Papers for a Special Issue led by Dr. Laura Forsythe. This issue will continue the conversation held at Reclaiming Métis Ethics: Beyond OCAP and Towards Métis Sovereignty. We are seeking pieces that speak to Métis Ethics, which could include, but are not limited to, approaches to research and community. This special issue, like all issues of Pawaatamihk, will feature a series of sections: Scholarly Articles, Community Stories, Poetry, and Visual Art.
This issue will also feature an additional section titled Notes from the Field, meant as a space to share short vignettes reporting from the symposium floor as a participant in the gathering.
Pawaatamihk publishes Métis scholars, both established and emerging, as well as Métis community members who have knowledge they want to share. All submissions must include a separate file with a Community Connection statement, outlining your connection to the Métis Nation.
When submitting, please indicate in the file title that the submission is intended for this Special Issue by using the following naming convention:
File name: ethics2025_Title
Submissions without this designation will be considered for the next regular issue of Pawaatamihk. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section (Scholarly Articles, Notes from the Field), please be sure to submit an anonymized version of the document and do not include any identifying information in the title.
